San Rafael, CA’s May 2012 home sales continued to creep upwards with 46 sales. As with most of Marin County, there is a continuing dearth of properties for buyers to choose from and the market remains constrained by this lack of inventory. Many observers of the market contend that sales figures could be significantly higher if sellers were to join the party. For now, it appears most sellers are holding out for higher prices — a strategy that may or may not make sense depending on the ultimate objective.
